Greg Van Ness Agency President
Greg Van Ness is President of Tolman & Wiker Insurance Services, a large regional insurance brokerage operation that is now the Southern California agency platform for AssuredPartners, one of the largest U.S. insurance brokers. With over 30 years of insurance brokerage experience in property & casualty insurance sales, risk consulting, and regional leadership with public and privately-held insurance brokerages, Van Ness became Tolman & Wiker’s first CEO in August, 2012.
Following his graduation from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1984, Van Ness began his business career working for three years as Manager of Executive Development for The Interpublic Group in New York City, one of the world’s largest advertising and marketing companies. He then returned to California and began his insurance brokerage career in 1987.
From 1999-2012, Van Ness served as Regional Managing Director for Wells Fargo Insurance Services, where he led and built a seven-office territory in Northern California and Northern Nevada, including the largest employee benefits operation in Wells Fargo nationally, that generated over $60 million in annual revenue.
Van Ness has completed executive leadership programs at New York University and The Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Ventura Chamber of Commerce, the Regional Advisory Council for the California Lutheran University School of Management, and Cal Lutheran’s Center for Economic Research and Forecasting.
Van Ness was awarded the Pathfinder Award by VC Innovates in May of 2016 for his contribution to Education-to-Career pathway development programs in Ventura County. He resides in Ventura County with his wife and two children, and he enjoys travel, fitness, and a wide variety of outdoor recreation.
