The news media continues to highlight mass data breaches; however, small ones are concerning as well as some of these may require interaction with governmental agencies. So how to best protect the interest of your organization – you’ll be provided with tips to take back for review and ideas to educate staff members – those providing care and those managing financial interests.
On the Rise! Sexual Abuse in Long Term Care

Description: Aging does not mean a loss of sexual intimacy. Sexuality is a universal human characteristic that extends throughout our lifespan. Residents can derive great physical and emotional benefit from touch, which is the last sense to be diminished for residents with Alzheimer's Disease or other forms of dementia. The issue of physical contact between residents raises many questions for facility staff, families, surveyors, ombudsmen and residents. So when does sexual expression cross the line? This session will focus on sexual abuse in long-term care.
