AP Employee-Led Resource Groups (ERG)

Supporting Each Other
By having Employee-led Resource Groups (ERGs) it is our hope that we can create a new channel of communication and connectivity, while lending a voice to the variety of demographics represented throughout AssuredPartners.

 

Mission Statement

  • Establish an open forum where employees with shared interests can aspire, develop and collaborate to educate, raise awareness, and share information about issues that affect historically marginalized communities
  • Provide professional development, networking, and cultural appreciation opportunities
  • Create a positive work environment by improving and promoting diversity, equity, equality, and inclusion
     

Goals

  • Create a new channel of communication and connectivity, while lending a voice to the variety of demographics represented throughout AssuredPartners
  • Allow those who have historically been underrepresented in the insurance industry the ability to further their sense of belonging
  • Offer a variety of opportunities to bring employees together with different backgrounds, across geographical locations, and build a sense of community
  • Align ourselves with AP’s overall business model and to ensure that we can positively influence our overall growth strategies
  • Recruit an executive sponsor for each ERG, who will help coach and advocate for the ERG as well as offer exposure to senior leadership.

Mission

The Latinx ERG promotes the professional development of Latino/Hispanic members by creating a culturally expansive and supportive environment, thereby contributing to the success of AssuredPartners’ mission of diversity, equity and inclusion.

Black Alliance ERG

Mission

The mission of the Black Alliance Employee Resource Group is to create a working environment of inclusion, opportunity, and empowerment for Black employees at AssuredPartners. We will accomplish this by sharing our history and personal experiences to provide understanding, encouragement, and motivation. This newfound working environment would allow us to bring our authentic selves to work and will cultivate better job performance, confidence, and success.

Goals

  • Create a sense of community for Black employees
  • Recruit and retain Black professionals by implementing programs to promote growth, advancement, and leadership opportunities
  • Develop Black employees to become leaders within AssuredPartners by providing career paths, guidance, and mentorship
  • Expand the Black Alliance ERG network through internal and external community involvement

PRIDE ERG

Mission

The mission of the PRIDE Employee Resource Group is to promote an inclusive community for lesbian, bisexual, gay, transgender and queer employees. PRIDE will provide a space not only to educate employees on LGBTQ+ history and culture, but also to create a space for celebration. PRIDE will support AssuredPartners' efforts to diversify staff, will work to recruit and retain LBGTQ-identified employees, and act as a safe space where employees may share their experiences in the hopes of identifying opportunities for AssuredPartners to meet the needs of our community. PRIDE will serve as a visible, accessible resource for LBGTQ-identified employees and their allies and will provide LBGTQ-focused networking, educational and social opportunities for AssuredPartners employees. The PRIDE ERG is open to all AssuredPartners employees.

Goals

  • Encourage AP to participate in the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Corporate Equality Index and develop policies and practices to improve LGBTQ+ inclusion
  • Provide a safe place for queer employees to share their experiences and needs
  • Identify opportunities for LGBTQ+ philanthropy
  • Be an open and accessible educational resource for the company

(Asian American Pacific Islander)

Mission

The AAPI Collective seeks to develop and implement initiatives that address the needs of the AAPI community, and foster an environment for mentorship between emerging professionals and experienced leadership, while highlighting personal experiences.

Goals

  • Amplify the stories and experiences of AAPI to celebrate our achievements as well as increase awareness of issues affecting the community
  • Uplift and empower AAPI employees through collaboration, mentorship, and education
  • Connect AAPI employees and allies through community gatherings (virtual until it’s safe to resume in-person events)

Mission

The L.E.A.D. (Learn, Educate, Advance and Develop) ERG will foster a space to create leadership experiences and promote professional development amongst AP employees. We will lead and implement the mentality of perpetual growth and development available to anyone who has the desire to set a goal and achieve it.
