Sam Daume
Samuel D. Daume, Jr., CPCU, ARM
EVP, Education Vertical Leader

Leadership Profile

With nearly 40 years of industry experience, and over three decades serving educational institutions as a broker, Sam is the AssuredPartners Education Vertical Leader. In addition to leading the practice, he provides risk management advice and insurance brokerage services to numerous individual colleges, universities, independent schools, and prominent outdoor organizations. In Sam’s role, he also manages several insurance buying consortiums for various education associations.

After graduating from Trinity College in Connecticut, Sam took his first steps in the field at Chubb Insurance Group. Outside of work, Sam has served on several boards, including being Treasurer at Pingree School and President of the Massachusetts Independent Association of Insurance Agents. He is a Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and has his designation as an Associate in Risk Management (ARM).

Bobby Riley
Bobby Riley, CLCS
SVP, K-12 Practice Leader

Leadership Profile

Bobby Riley, our K-12 Practice Leader, works with various independent schools nationwide to help them better manage and identify risk and navigate the complicated education insurance marketplace. He has been instrumental in developing and enhancing an exceptional foreign travel solution for the growing amount of international travel that schools offer to their students. Bobby has been a presenter for many industry associations, including the National Business Officers Association (NBOA), the Global Education Benchmark Group (GEBG), The Association of Boarding Schools (TABS), the Connecticut Association of Independent Schools (CAIS), and the New Jersey Association of Independent Schools (NJAIS), among others.

A proud supporter of youth nonprofit organizations, Bobby spends much of his free time coaching youth sports. He also volunteers for other organizations he is passionate about. Bobby is a Corporate Ambassador for Team Impact, Inc., a scholarship interviewer for the Francis Ouimet Fund, a Needham High School Distinguished Careers Committee member, and a mentor to Bowdoin College's current football members as part of their Alumni Mentor Program. Bobby holds an AB in government and legal studies and Spanish from Bowdoin College.

Brian Hughes
Brian Hughes, CIC, CSRM
VP, Higher Education Practice

Leadership Profile

Brian has worked in the commercial insurance industry for over 25 years and has earned several prestigious designations, including the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Cyber Professional Liability Practitioner (CPLP). Having worked with college and university clients for over 10 years, helping them calculate and address their risk management and insurance needs, Brian Hughes is the AssuredPartners Practice Leader for higher education.

When not in the office, Brian serves on several nonprofit boards in the Des Moines, Iowa, area. Presently, he is the president of Families Forward, an organization that runs a women's and children's shelter and the largest food pantry in Iowa. He is an active member of the University Risk Management & Insurance Association (URMIA) and regularly speaks at insurance conferences on various topics, including property insurance and cyber concerns. Brian graduated from Emporia State University in Kansas with a BBA in marketing.
