The annual Ohio Health Care Association convention will be held April 29 – May 2 at the Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio. AssuredPartners and Risk Management Solutions will each have a booth on the expo floor and present a session on the clinical and legal aspects of responding to a resident’s injury. If you work in the senior living industry, join us for this valuable presentation:

My Resident is Hurt…Now What?

Tuesday, April 30, 4:00-5:00pm

The ultimate goal of every caregiver is to keep residents safe while providing exceptional high-quality care. However, litigation in the senior living industry has been increasing for several years. As litigation continues to rise, senior living providers are confronted with the need to effectively manage the most frequent claims-made occurrences in order to provide safe, effective care while reducing the risk for lawsuits. What happens when an unfortunate event does occur? In this session we will discuss both the clinical and legal aspects of responding to a resident’s injury. This session will address initial event response; preparing for potential legal action; the legal process; and actual case studies.

After this session, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify what action steps to take when responding to a serious adverse event
  2. Understand how to prepare for potential legal action as the result of a serious adverse event
  3. Discuss each stage of litigation from lawsuit to trial

Be sure to stop by the expo hall and meet the AssuredPartners Senior Living and Risk Management Solutions teams. You’ll find AssuredPartners representatives at Booth 701 and Risk Management Solutions representatives at Booth 703.
